How it works

As you enter the car park building, your number plate will be read by our system. If your visit is under 30 minutes you can proceed straight to the exit. The parking system will recognise your number plate and the gate will open automatically.

If your stay is longer than the “no charge” period you can pay the parking fee with your PayWave enabled card via a pay station in our lobbies on the ground, first and second floors. On your way out, the system will recognise your parking payment and the gate will open automatically. You are also able to pay for your parking via PayWave at the gate on exit.

Please note, payment for parking is via PayWave only. If you do not have PayWave activated on your card, please find alternative parking to visit the Centre.

Long-term leased parking

Long-term leased parking is available, at $40 (including GST) for five days per week, paid weekly by direct debit. If you would like more information on a long-term park at Invercargill Central, please contact accounts@invercargillcentral.nz.

Accessible and parent parking

You can find accessible and parent parking on each level of the Invercargill Central carpark building, located close to our lifts.

Electric Vehicle charging stations

EV charging is now available at Invercargill Central.

We’re excited to have partnered with Meridian Energy to install six Zero AC chargers on the first floor of our Tay Street parking building. Zero is Meridian’s EV charging network and once completed will have over 500 charge points available to EV drivers nationwide.

The chargers are available for public use and each charger has two charge points so you can charge while you shop. You’ll need to bring your own AC charging cable, so remember to keep it handy in your boot. Don’t have an AC charging cable? Sign up to Meridian’s EV Plan to get an AC charging cable for FREE*.
