HWCP Director Resigns

HWCP Management wish to advise that Geoff Thomson has resigned from his position as director of HWCP for personal reasons.

“It is absolutely imperative that Invercargill’s heart is brought back into the inner-city. While the project has experienced a bit of a bump in the road it is still on track to continue,” HWCP director Scott O’Donnell says.

“Geoff has dedicated a staggering amount of time, effort, energy and care into getting this project as far as it has, and our community should be incredibly grateful to him for that. We respect Geoff’s decision unreservedly,” O’Donnell says.

“Geoff has always had what is best for the city of Invercargill at the forefront of his mind, and we appreciate everything he has done during the last four years. We are dedicated to ensuring this project makes him proud.”

The Invercargill City Council has indicated its willingness to work with the remaining equity investors and other potential funders to ensure the project is completed.

HWCP will not comment further on Thomson’s resignation.

“This is just a hiccup, and that happens all the time in business. Our focus has now turned to Plan B and ensuring this game-changing redevelopment boxes on. The public support for revitalising Invercargill’s inner-city is tremendous. HWCP remains as committed as ever to seeing this through, for the people who call Invercargill home and for future generations to come.”
